Greco-Turkish Ferry Launched



As part of the Greek government's drive to increase tourism on the Greek Islands it has launched a new ferry service linking Bodrum with the Greek Island of Samos.

The service will complement exisiting routes linking Turkey to the Islands of Kalymnos, Kos and Rhodes and over 50,000 tourists are expected to use it by the end of 2009.

Turkey is becoming ever more popular and according to the World Tourism Organisation's table of the world's highest earning tourism sectors, Turkey ranks 8th.

The head of the Turkish Hotels Federation, TUROFED, has predicted that 2008 will be bigger year than 2007 when the country recived 23.5 million tourists with an expected 27 million people to visit this year.
