Brits Own Over Two Million Square Metres in Turkey

British property investors own more than 2.5m square metres of real estate in Turkey.

The figures, released by the Land Registry General Directorate, also said that 73,000 foreigners collectively own 38.42 million square metres in Turkey.

The Mugla region, in which Bodrum is located, has the highest number of square metres of real estate owned by foreigners. In fact, 12,865 foreigners have bought real estate in the Mugla region in Turkey, 10,039 of which are British.

In total, the land owned by Brits amounts to a massive 2.66 million square metres!

With new flights to Bodrum International Airport, and a number of changes and improvements to the tourism infrastructure, this number is likely to continue to increase over the course of 2008.
