Expats Choose Turkey for Sunshine and Warm Welcome
A study undertaken by Dokuz Eylul University has found that expats living in Turkey chose Turkey because of the warm climate and warm welcome.
The research, also conducted by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) questioned foreigners living in Turkey about their motivations for moving to Turkey.
The research found that 202,085 foreigners had obtained residence permits in 2007.
Many of the foreign residents studied said that they liked Turkey because of the warm climate and the friendly culture. A reasonable cost of living and rich historical heritage were also stated.
