Golf in Turkey is undergoing massive development, with 100 courses planned by the Turkish Golf Federation.
Revenues from golf alone are predicted to be in the region 500 million euros in just two years time.
18 new courses are planned from the Mugla region; in which Bodrum is located. These 18 are in addition to the two that are already in operation in the Mugla region.
With a very agreeable climate, reasonable property and living costs, and an increasing tourism industry, Turkey has all the major factors in place to become a favourite golfing holiday destination.
These factors seem to already be having an impact on the tourism industry, with 1.7 million tourists visiting Turkey during January and February 2008; this figure is a 12 per cent increase on the figures from 2007.
