Turkey is Second Cheapest European Destination

With the Euro increasing in value against the pound, the Post Office has been looking at which holiday destinations offer the best value for money.

Turkey came out as the second cheapest European holiday destination.

Helen Warburton from the Post Office said: "We believe holidaymakers will look very carefully this year at how to get the best value for their money".

Turkey is an increasingly popular holiday destination, as it enjoys over 300 days sunshine each year, very friendly and hospitable people, a relatively low cost of living, a vast array of things to see and do and regular flights to tourist destination airports such as Bodrum airport.

Ms Warburton went on to say: "We also recommend that [holidaymakers] consider not just the exchange rates available but also the living costs in holiday destinations."

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has released a report to say that it is looking to further enhance it's appeal as a holiday destination. The actions include creating and building golf courses, improving the tourism infrastructure i.e. motorways, airports and railways and planning sporting and recreational areas among many other things.
