Arcos de la Frontera, Spain

Arcos de la Frontera stands dramatically upon a hill, with cliffs dropping away dramatically on either side. It is the largest of Andalucia's white villages, with the white houses built of the sheer cliff faces, creating a stunning image from outside the town.

Due to it's imposing position, the town has been favoured over the years by various parties, including an independent Muslim kingdom.

The old town of Arcos de la Frontera is a maze of narrow, cobbled streets and stunning vistas appearing out of nowhere. The castle; Castillo de los Duques isn't open to the public, however there are many buildings that are, which are worth a visit.
