Telephone Communications
Communications in Spain are fairly straightforward. All land numbers begin with a 9 and are 9 digits long.As so many British expats live in Spain now, it is possible to get quite cheap international deals with your operator, if you're planning to move to Spain, or spend a great deal of time at your property there.
Alternatively, if you're staying in Spain and want to contact home, you can get a telephone card; 'tarjetas telefonicas', available in denominations of €6, €10 or €20 from tabacconists and post offices. These don't necessarliy offer savings over using coins in the telephones, however, they are much handier.
If you're planning to stay a while, you could consider purchasing a pay-as-you-go mobile phone, as it can work out quite inexpensive and you can always sell the mobile on before you leave.
