Currency in Spain
The currency used in Spain is the Euro (€). The exchange as of 03/11/2007 is:£1 = 1.36€
1€ = £0.73
One Euro is divided into 100 cents.
The Euro replaced the Peseta in 2002, and even five years on, some shops still show products' prices in pesetas and euros, even though the transaction is, without exception, made in euros. This is very much testament to Spaniards' mindset with reference to the currency, as many were reticent to change the currency, and such, think in pesetas still.
To convert your currency, go to a bank (although you may be required to hold an account with some banks in order to use their services) or some travel agencies or hotels will be able to assist.
It is, of course, possible to go to Spain without any Euros and use the hole-in-the-wall, or indeed, get Euros in the UK.
