Food and Drink in Jerez, Spain

As Jerez is at the heart of Andalucia, it is right to assume that the tradition cuisine in Jerez follows the lines of tapas, and is flavoured, extensively, with sherry.

However, that isn't to say that there isn't a wide range of choice of food and drink in Jerez, and many restaurants take advantage of the town's proximity to the ocean; offering a wide choice of seafood on their menus.

Plaza Plateros has recently been revamped, and is now host to a selection of bars with outdoor seating. Calle Larga is also home to a collection of bars and restaurants.

As far as drinking is concerned, it must be almost compulsory to visit one of Jerez's bodegas. The oldest bodega in Jerez is the 'Bodegas Gonzalez Byass', which includes brandy, as well as sherry production. One of the bodega's buildings was designed by Eiffel Tower designed Gustav Eiffel, and as an added bonus you don't have to pre-book - you can just tun up as and when you wish. Tours cost €7.
