Alcazar
This fortress, from the 11th or 12th century, comprises a stunning mosque, or 'mezquita', some original Arabian baths and the 'Palacio Villavicencio'. The Camera Obscura in the palace's tower provides amazing projected views of the city, and the floor below has a balcony which offers stunning views offer the city.

Centro Andaluz de Flamenco
The Andalucian Flamenco Centre is located in Plaza San Juan, and it comprises a wealth of information about Flamenco, including a museum, videos and sometimes, even, demonstrations.

Museo Arqueologico
An excellent museum, the Archaeological Museum of Jerez is located in the Plaza del Mercado. It comprises many interesting artefacts which give an insight into traditional life, and the building itself is of great interest.

Palacio del Tiempo
Otherwise known as the clock museum, this museum houses a stunning collection of over 300 clocks dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The story goes that a wine merchant settled in Jerez, but became infatuated with the idea of controlling time, and as such collected a absurd amount of clocks, which are now beautifully displayed and all in working order!

Royal Andalucian School of Equestrian Art
This is a unique show, where horses 'dance', and perform tricks to music. It is quite a famous spectacle and well worth a visit. Admission starts at €13 for the show, or €6 if you'd like to observe a training show.

Zoo Jerez
The 'Zoo Botanical Jerez' has over 200 species of animal from all over the world; including Spains's only white tiger, as well as botanical gardens. The Zoo is closed on Mondays, and admission costs €4 for adults and €2.60 for children aged 14 or under. Tel no. (+34) 956 182 397
