Aqua Park
The Aqua Park is just a short dolmus (mini bus) ride from Altinkum, and it has loads of water slides and different swimming pools. There's enough here to keep the very adventurous right through to the very scared entertained for the day, and there are cafe's for you to grab a bite for lunch.
Tickets for the bus to the aqua park can be bought from many of the agents in Altinkum town. The bus just takes ten minutes to reach the aqua park.
Boat Trips
Boat trips are a great way to relax. One of the more popular routes which leaves between 10:30 and 11:00am and returns around 4:00pm, has five stops, including islands and beautiful bays. The whole trip offers fantastic views along the Aegean coast and the crystal clear waters. At some of the stops there's the opportunity to participate in such activities as banana boat, doughnut rides or indeed dancing on the boat in the afternoon!
With the construction of the new marina, the boat trips now leave from Altinkum harbour - which is located at the west end of Altinkum main beach.
When the boats stop at their designated areas passengers can jump off the boat straight into the sea which is highly invigorating, or of course the more elegant passengers can descend the steps off the boat into the water! Because of the atmosphere, boat trips can be a great way to meet people and pick their brains about what activities to do during your time in Altinkum.
A ticket costs around £10 which includes lunch, or a £15 ticket includes lunch and drinks; a bargain! Another route visits Bodrum, taking around two hours each way; a really pleasant trip.
Alternatively, there is the option of private charter if you'd like to get out on the water but by way of under your own steam to do whatever activities take you fancy.
To get the best price, or indeed the best boat for a good price it's best to actually get down to the harbour and chat to some of the owners about what they offer.
Golf
The local Ministry of Culture and Tourism is ploughing money into the local area, and as such two golf courses are planned for the local area, although the actual locations are still to be announced.

Popular souvenirs to take home from Altinkum, or Turkey in general include the 'nazar boncuk', otherwise known as the evil eye which will protect the beholder from evil spirits. Smoking pipes also make unusual gifts for friends and family!
When visiting the market, keep your eyes peeled for carpets and rugs, leather goods, designer jeans and household goods as these are invariably great quality and can be purchased for a good price - depending on the buyer's haggling skills!
Sunbathing!
Of course sunbathing is a popular activity, well not so much activity as a non-activity! There's a vast amount of sun loungers and umbrellas available on the beaches, many of which are owned by cafes or restaurants, meaning you can benefit from 'sunbed service' as opposed to 'table service' depending on where you choose to sunbathe.
The main beach is around 1km long, so you'll be spoilt for choice as to where to put your sunbeds! All three beaches slope gently into the sea and as such they're perfect for non-swimmers and those who aren't fully confident in the water, and more confident swimmers can happily go further out to sea.
