The shop owner will sit you down with some tea and show you some carpets, whilst explaining the process to you and showing off the high quality of the carpets.
Built in 300BC, the Temple of Apollo was destroyed in the 1800's and then partly restored. It houses the figure of Medusa, who as legend has it, turned evil people to stone. However, when fighting with Alexander the Great, he reflected her powers, turning her to stone - see the picture at the top on the right. The story goes that people would travel miles and miles to seek advice from the oracle of Apollo. To do so they'd have to wash in the well outside the Temple, and then pay a fee; be it currency or fish (!) before entering the temple to have a sleep as Apollo would come to them in a dream as they slept with the answers to the question they pondered.
The general understanding of the Temple of Apollo is that it dates back to 200BC, however recent archeological excavations have unearthed the possibility that parts of the Temple of Apollo could date right back to 800BC!
