Gündoǧan

A picturesque town on the Bodrum peninsula, Gündoǧan has a population of 4500 in the winter months, which increases to around 25,000 in the summer period.

With excellent facilities for trekking, sailing, surfing and windsurfing and diving - Gündoǧan is a favourite among the more active holiday makers, although those wanting to relax and chill out are more than welcome too.

The town was originally called 'Farilya' which means 'sunrise'. You'll probably hear Gündoǧan referred to by its traditional name quite often.

Gündoǧan has a long sandy beach, divided occasionally by jetties and the main harbour, with sunbeds and umbrellas perfect for the sunseekers.

In the evening Gündoǧan has a relaxed atmosphere, so those looking for a good, lively time can visit nearby Gumbet or Bodrum town.
